MOORESTOWN, NJ, October 27, 2004 – Rawson Foods operates over twenty Wendy's locations throughout New Jersey and New York, offering high quality food made with the freshest ingredients and served the way the customer wants it. Any information and control system for Wendy's needs to keep these goals in mind and allow the focus to remain on the customer, while helping operators remain competitive. Keeping up with food and labor costing, menu and coupon promotions and late night sales has just gotten a lot easier for Rawson Foods with the recent implementation of Enterprise Manager from Comtrex Systems Corporation.
A customer of Comtrex since the 1993, Rawson's began testing the Odyssey Suite from Comtrex in a single store in early 2002. By the end of 2003, the system-wide roll-out was complete in all existing locations, including high speed Internet credit card authorization both at the counter and the drive through and automated, usage-based ordering with a direct FTP connection to SYGMA. The entire menu and recipe mix is controlled through the central programming component of Enterprise Manager. With the core system in place, Comtrex and Rawson began working together to develop an information system which would allow Rawson to continue its growth through automatic integration into a Great Plains accounting system, including daily general ledger posting and employee status information as well as bi-weekly payroll posting.
Next up was a custom reporting component for Enterprise Manager; one which would allow not only corporate management but Regional Managers as well to stay on top of the mission critical information at each store. The Daily Operations Report, Labor Cost Analysis Report, Food Cost Analysis Report, as well as a "Top Ten Item" Report, all replace existing, manually prepared, Excel spreadsheets. This information is now available on a next morning basis and each report can be easily exported from the web to an Excel spreadsheet on the user's own PC to develop customized views.
The continuing goal of Comtrex is to free management time for operational tasks by reducing the double entry of information. A future upgrade will integrate the Wendy's Hourly Labor Guide, using multiple tables and tailored to each individual store. Actual and projected Labor Guide Hours will be available on a next day basis, with a minimum of administrative managerial time.
